The heart of local life

The Bastide Saint-Louis is the centre of the local town of Carcassonne, and is the focus of Carcassonne-style conviviality, as well as numerous shops, restaurants and other businesses.

But what is the Bastide Saint-Louis ?

  • It’s a district built on a quadrangular plan organised around a central square.
  • It’s bounded by boulevards and has a remarkable architectural wealth of private mansions and religious buildings.
