Leading figures of gypsy jazz, Samson Schmitt and Yannis Constans join their talents on stage to present “Esperanza”, an album of original compositions in which family, generosity and a shared passion for swing lie at the heart of the project. They are joined by double bassist and luthier Camille Wolfrom, with special guest star Aurore Voilqué, a violinist renowned for her expertise in gypsy jazz.

For Samson Schmitt, music is a story of transmission. The son of the famous guitarist Dorado Schmitt, himself a disciple of Django Reinhardt, Samson grew up within a true gypsy jazz dynasty. A guitar virtuoso, he remains deeply rooted in this musical culture while embracing new collaborations. Alongside him, Yannis Constans represents another facet of contemporary gypsy jazz. Self-taught, he has forged a unique musical identity through his travels between gypsy swing, jazz and the music of Eastern Europe. He has established himself on international stages, performing with prestigious musicians such as Stochelo Rosenberg, Tchavolo Schmitt and Angelo Debarre.

To enrich this trio, they are joined by Camille Wolfrom, a double bassist and luthier renowned for his charismatic presence and precise playing. Passionate about instrument making as much as jazz improvisation, Camille brings sensitivity and experience that perfectly complement the group. The album “Esperanza” is the culmination of a journey marked by passion, intergenerational transmission and a desire to explore new musical horizons together.

As a special guest, gypsy jazz violin specialist Aurore Voilqué will complete the trio. A unique opportunity to hear an exceptional ensemble, joined by a musician who grew up with a violin in her hands, has performed alongside artists such as Francis Cabrel, Rhoda Scott, Angelo Debarre and Thomas Dutronc, and whose career continues to gain international recognition.
