TICTORIAL GARDEN – PLANTS OF COLOR
Presentation
The Tourist Office and the City of Carcassonne announce the creation of the Dye Garden, an innovative project in continuity with the House of Wool and Cloth.
This open-air exhibition garden will showcase the plants historically used to dye wool, while raising public awareness of the importance of natural dyes.
Carried out in partnership with the Town Hall of Lauris, the project aims to highlight traditional know-how related to plant dyeing and to strengthen Carcassonne’s textile identity. The initiative benefits from the expertise of Madame Dominique Cardon, internationally renowned for her research on natural colorants.
A pedagogical and sensory space looking towards the future, inviting visitors to rediscover the city through color, nature, and history.
