From Carcassonne head towards Cucugnan via Lagrasse and Villerouge-Termenes (74.10 km, 1h40 min).
Cross Lagrasse (view of the abbey from the bridge), continue towards Villerouge-Termenès (view of the castle from the road) then continue towards Davejean, Maison and Padern. At the bend in the road you will discover Cucugnan, the legendary village of Alphonse Daudet's "Curé de Cucugnan". This picturesque village invites you to stroll through its narrow streets. 3.7 km from Cucugnan, discover the castle of Quéribus. Take the road back to the castle of Peyrepertuse. Drive towards the Gorges de Galamus via Cubières-sur-Cinoble. From the gorges, continue on the D14 to Bugarach.
Continue towards Limoux (33.3km; 44 min) via Rennes-les-bains, a health resort at an altitude of 310m. In Limoux, you have the opportunity to taste a Blanquette before returning to Carcassonne.
