This section of the Canal du Midi will allow you to discover the diversity of the landscapes along the banks, the trees of different species, but also locks and bridges. A real haven of peace along the water, where you can meet lock keepers, pleasure boats and fishermen.
Departure point: Port de Carcassonne (opposite the SNCF station)
Signposts: None, follow the canal towpath along the Minervois road
Distance: 11km one way
Return possible by bus
Itinerary: Go down to the banks of the Canal opposite the station and turn right, before crossing the bridge. Follow the towpath, a little further on you will pass the lock of Saint Jean and the Fresquel, then the lock of l'Evêque and Villedubert until you reach the lock of Trèbes. Visit of the village. Return by the same route on foot or by bike or return with bus n°10 (go to the port, cross the canal bridge and turn left, rue Pierre Loti bus stop of the same name)
