Whether on crusade or back on his lands, a medieval knight never travelled alone. Surrounded by his loyal retinue, he relied on a procession of characters essential to his daily life.

During your visit of the reconstructed medieval camp in the Cité of Carcassonne, our medieval guide will introduce you to the life of the knight and his companions.
Under the camp tents, explore the crafts of the past: the apothecary and his remedies, the monk scribe and his writings, the blacksmith and the haubergier, guardians of weapons and armour.
