Your visit of the Medieval City

The Medieval City of Carcassonne is a fortified village, protected by 2 rows of ramparts and accessible free of charge 24 hours a day. The walker can stroll through the lices and the narrow streets of the Medieval City and visit the Basilica of Saint Nazaire during the day. The Castle of the Counts, located inside the medieval city, is subject to the purchase of an entrance ticket.

All these places can be visited with our guides.

Where Pleasure Abounds

Guided Tours and Treasure Hunts

A visit to the City can be done without a guide, but this would mean missing out on the anecdotes, the little and big secrets, and the answers from our guides. There are short and long tours, costumed and non-costumed guides, daytime and evening tours, in short, there is a tour to suit you.

Unless you prefer to discover the Medieval City in a playful way on your own with our treasure hunts!

Where history abounds

The Bastide Saint-Louis & The Canal du Midi

In the 13th century, under the reign of Saint Louis, the people of Carcassonne built the Bastide that would bear his name. Rich in private mansions built at the height of the cloth industry in the 17th century, the Bastide is the current city centre of Carcassonne. The Canal du Midi, classified by UNESCO, borders it and is a pretext for beautiful walks and surprising cruises.

Wine and Excursions around Carcassonne

Set in the middle of the vineyards, the Medieval City of Carcassonne is the ideal starting point to discover this formidable vineyard which, depending on the Mediterranean or oceanic influences, gives our wines the character specific to each appellation.  Would you like to take a trip by minibus with a guide specialising in heritage or wine?

Escapades Stays

Although a visit to Carcassonne requires one and a half days, it would be a pity not to take advantage of a little more time to discover the castles that bear witness to the Cathar era, the abbeys, museums and other villages that make up the charm of this region so authentic!
