Concert | Representation

Presentation

A programme of works from the repertoire, featuring Dorota Anderszewska, supersolo violin soloist with the Orchestre national Montpellier Occitanie, and the young conductor Ka Hou Fan, in residence in Montpellier since September 2022.

In the first half, a work by Edvard Grieg: the magnificent Holberg Suite in the old style, composed in 1884 and transposed for strings by the Norwegian composer, to celebrate the bicentenary of the birth of the poet Ludwig Holberg, a contemporary of Johann Sebastian Bach.
Dorota Anderszewska will perform the Concerto for Violin and Orchestra No. 4, a very popular work by Mozart, composed in 1775.

Finally, Le Tombeau de Couperin is a suite of dances in homage to 18th-century French music, composed by Maurice Ravel between 1914 and 1917. Marguerite Long, the creator of the piano version, had to perform it in its entirety.

"Her violin can say it all: prayer, complaint, visceral pain, but also gaiety, joyful casualness, everything that expresses the lightness of being and the change in sentimental climate; laughter and tears..." MIDI LIBRE - MIDI LIBRE
