FESTIVAL DE CARCASSONNE - THIBAULT CAUVIN & M
Thibault Cauvin and -M- meet on stage to propose a musical journey, between electric guitar and classical guitar, at the Carcassonne Festival 2024!
Thibault Cauvin is the only guitarist in the world to have won 36 international awards!
Thibault Cauvin was born with a guitar, the one handed to him by his father, a musician himself. From there, everything followed with a perfect naturalness. He studied at the Conservatoire de Bordeaux and the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris, where he graduated with honours. Then he won 36 international awards, including 13 first prizes (Los Angeles, Malaga, Vienna, etc.). At 20, he became the most successful guitarist in the world. Concerts are multiplying, the world wants to hear «the Little Prince of the six-string». Since Thibault travels, more than 120 countries visited for nearly 1500 performances, from the most prestigious stages to the most atypical places, from the Carnegie Hall of New York to the Eiffel Tower, from the Tchaikovsky Hall of Moscow to the Forbidden City of Beijing, from London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall to the Acropollium of Carthage. Thibault’s guitar has no borders, no limits, one evening 40,000 people can hear it on the beach of Royan, two days after he plays in a ruined temple on the borders of the equator for some 200 privileged. The diversity, the contrasts, the adventure, the discoveries, the freedom, the encounters, so many subjects dear to Thibault, that we hear in his music. His universal game and his endearing personality charm and gather all audiences. The media are unanimously seduced by the «Cauvin phenomenon», whether they are generalists like Yann Barthès who calls him «Superstar of the guitar», Claire Chazal who emphasizes the «unusual» dimension of his concerts, Léa Salamé who presents him as «one of the best classical guitarists in the world», or specialized like France Musique which devotes him every year many shows, Guitare Classique Magazine faithful of the first hour, and so many others. «The Little Prince» has grown and his childhood dream of playing notes capable of touching all hearts seems to come true. After dedicating albums to the great classical composers Scarlatti, Albéniz then Vivaldi recorded with the Orchestre de Chambre de Paris at the Philharmonie de Paris, Thibault offers in 2018 a very personal record: CITIES II. Guests include artists from different musical worlds such as Matthieu Chedid, Didier Lockwood, Ballaké Sissoko, Erik Truffaz and Thylacine. This album is a success and follows a tour of more than 150 concerts on all continents, including 3 performances in Paris in 2019 sold out at the Théâtre de la ville, the Salle Gaveau and the Palace. Thibault returns in 2020 with an album dedicated to Estudios Sencillos by Leo Brouwer, a Cuban composer who wrote this legendary cycle played by all guitarists in the world. Leo Brouwer at 81 punctuates this cycle, with 3 new opus dedicated to Thibault, which appear on the album. This project, this meeting, and the unique story around this series, gave Thibault the desire to create a show between concert and theater, which he has been playing regularly since. In 2021, FILMS is released, an experimental project in which it presents another facet of its opening. Under the guise of the great themes of cinema, Thibault connects his classical guitar to various effects and sound pedals, inspired by electric guitars. In February 2023, his famous album devoted to the work of Johann Sebastian Bach was released. The record was acclaimed by the critics and it was at the top of sales.
