FESTIVAL DE CARCASSONNE - THE ITALIANS OF THE OPERA
Event: discover the grace and elegance embodied by 10 dancers, stars and soloists, of the Paris Opera in a mesmerizing show. Immerse yourself in the passion, emotion and virtuosity of these exceptional artists and their masterful interpretation.
In 2016, Alessio Carbone, then the first dancer at the Paris Opera, had the brilliant idea of uniting his compatriots and colleagues in the ballet for a gala in his hometown of Venice. Thus were born «the Italians of the Paris Opera». For the first time in Carcassonne, Les Italiens de l'Opera will present an ambitious programme of pieces or extracts from the great ballets of the repertoire and modern creations, in which the troupe can express the wide range of its talents. On the menu, according to the performers present and the inspiration of Alessio Carbone, excerpts from ballets such as
«Romeo and Juliet» by Nureyev, «Don Quixote» by Marius Petipa, «Signes» by Carolyn Carlson, or «In the middle» by William Forsythe. A subtle alliance of academic tradition and creation that should delight dance lovers! A meeting as joyful as virtuoso: unavoidable!
