EXPO - MAX SAVY, GENEROUSLY INSPIRED
Presentation
Max Savy is one of the personalities who really impressed his Aude compatriots in the second half of the 20th century. His work, particularly rich, remains deeply personal. He, with passion and generosity, represented the world as he saw and experienced it. Far from a smooth image or one codified by the canons of contemporary art of his time.
He painted real people and landscapes bathed in light. He also chooses to show humanity, battered by its own contradictions and launched into an incessant but desperate spiritual quest. And the painter, out of tenderness and kindness, remains attentive to beings and lays down in thick layers a range of colors that bring light, warmth, hope.
The chosen works tend to offer the visitor a journey at the end of which no answer appears. The path that the artist once took undoubtedly leads to questions about the tribulations of the human soul and its destiny. The choice of works presented allows, through different allegories, to see how this man was moved by the trials to which humans are subjected and inspired by the hope hidden in each representation.
Max Savy was a witness to his time, in touch with his time and his contemporaries. Thanks to his palette tinged with light, he left us as a testament his dreamlike universe, the universe of a generously inspired man.
