AUDITORIUM THURSDAYS: ISDAT WIND ORCHESTRA "VARIATIONS FOR WIND INSTRUMENTS"

Concert | Representation

Presentation

To continue a faithful collaboration, after the string orchestra of isdaT (Higher Institute of Arts and Design of Toulouse), it is the turn of the wind orchestra to be the guest of the Thursdays of the Auditorium. Created in 2021 to satisfy the need for orchestral practice within isdaT, this band has a variable geometry: it brings together flutes, oboes, clarinets, horns and saxophones. Although the repertoire of this ensemble originally consisted mainly of works by military bands or kiosks, it was enriched with arrangements and many original compositions, highlighting the qualities of wind instruments.

Tonight’s program highlights composers as varied as W.-A. Mozart, Igor Stravinsky or Anton Bruckner.

David Minetti, solo clarinet of the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse since 1996, is the conductor. This fine musician, first prize at the Conservatory «G. Verdi» in Turin, also brings his knowledge of ensemble music for wind instruments by giving Masterclasses around the world. Since 2006, he has been working with isdaT on student training.
